Throwback to Hog Roast Ross-on-Wye’s corporate at a theme park! A massive company decided to reward their staff by hiring out an entire theme park for a day and supplied food. Hog Roast Ross-on-Wye, supplied their traditional hog roast for 3000 people!
How did they manage 3000 people?! Ten 65-70kg pigs and a great team to serve it quickly and professionally. It required 5 stations, so 5 gazebos in line with each team having the responsibility of two pigs. To make the service quick, the tender and juicy pulled pork and tasty sage and onion stuffing was served into soft white floured baps and served with brambly apple sauce onto a good-quality napkin. Crunchy crackling was given to those who asked.
As the 12pm serve arrived, each team was ready to start with two people serving the pork and stuffing and two staff behind them cutting rolls, topping things up and serving the sauce. An extra chef was at the ready to start carving the second pig when the meat was running low. Within three hours everyone had been fed. The company had given out vouchers to exchange for a roll, this allowed for Hog Roast Ross-on-Wye to count how many people they had served… 3256.
It was a stressful three hours, but totally worth it to be allowed on the rides for free afterwards! Especially for the team members who were thrill seekers! Those who disliked rides packed the stations down and loaded up the vans as the rest of the team enjoyed the rides. The team can’t complain they have a boring job ha! The only challenge that occurred was having to fight wasps for the apple sauce! Always pleasure on a sunny day.
Hog Roast Ross-on-Wye have been to many events with rides, it is a lovely gesture from the host/customer to let the teams join in the fun! Usually, they let the teams have a go to show their gratitude for the brilliant service and food.
