December A.K.A. our busiest month is now over for another year, and now that we have had the chance to process and reflect on the past few weeks, we can’t wait to tell you about all of the wonderful events we were lucky enough to cater for over the festive period!
In the Midlands, Hog Roast Ludlow’s catering manager, Mark handled several spectacular celebrations, leaving many clients with lots of happy memories that they will be able to look back on fondly for years to come. On Christmas Day, for example, he treated client, Will, his wife, Rebecca and their family to one of our traditional seasonal menus.
The couple had placed their booking with Hog Roast Ludlow when our diary first opened up way back in October, after deciding, like many of our clients, that they wanted to fully enjoy Christmas, without having to deal with the stresses of kitchen duties.
Right away, they were impressed by our inclusive selection of dining options, but what truly sealed the deal for them, were the snapshots of our food from previous years.
Images depicting drool-inducing, free-range turkey, or slow-roasted pork cooked over real flames with sage and onion stuffing, and served alongside homemade cranberry sauce, cauliflower cheese, rich gravy, pigs in blankets, roasties and a medley of seasonal vegetables proved impossible for the pair to pass up. And after much deliberation between our two meat options, the couple eventually settled on turkey, which they felt would have been better-received by some of their fussier family members.
Fast-forwarding to Christmas Day, Mark made sure to arrive a handful of hours before the agreed serving time, even though the gathering was a very small one, as this allowed him to properly season the meat before leaving it to cook on the rotisserie while he prepped the sides.
We’re pleased to announce that Will, Rebecca and the rest of the family loved everything about the spread, particularly the turkey, which, after years of enduring dry, flavourless versions of the meat, they could hardly believe was so moist and tender.
