With the milder weather making its long-awaited return, many of our clients have begun braving the great outdoors once again. Most recently, Hog Roast Tewkesbury was asked to provide our services at an open-air concert which was being organised by music enthusiast, Ben. After selling out of all 250 tickets to the event, which was created to promote up-and-coming talent to the local community, the client was keen to find an irresistible menu to keep the guests entertained between acts.
Talking to our skilled catering manager, Ben was able to discuss each of our main menus in full detail, and after learning more about each catering package, he soon decided on our southern slow roast menu. With a trio of flavour-packed meats to choose from, an array of tantalising sides and a vegetarian/vegan option, the southern slow roast is the perfect crowd-pleasing menu for lively events, and Ben couldn’t have been happier with his choice.
With the first musician set to take to the stage at 6pm, Hog Roast Tewkesbury arrived just after midday to begin working on the feast. Setting up the equipment as far back from the stage as possible, the team used our Hogmaster machines to cook enough BBQ pork butt, Texan 24 hour beef brisket and fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs for everyone. Meats taken care of, the catering crew turned their attention to the side options of creamy mac and cheese, Memphis style crunchy coleslaw and loaded fries, along with the vegetarian and vegan alternative of grilled veggie skewers with optional haloumi, flatbreads and tzatziki dip.
As the concert’s start time neared, people began rushing around to sort out the stage lighting and prep the musicians before their performance. Time seemed to pass in a blur, and before anyone knew it the ticket holders began arriving, bringing their contagious excitement with them!
Everyone cheered as tuneful lyrics began filling the air, and after working up a sweat jumping around during the first set, the guests were grateful for the Hog Roast Tewkesbury buffet, which replenished their energy in time for the next artist to come on.
