Hog Roast Coalville enjoys catering for corporate parties. Last Wednesday Hog Roast Coalville’s catering manager Lee and his lovely daughter Lauren catered for a local company as they celebrated a great year. Despite the miserable weather, the staff were all in good spirits as they anticipated their delicious treat.
Lee had been liaising with the smiley Shaun who greeted them on their arrival and told them exactly where they needed to set up and gave them a tour of where everything was if they needed anything, the toilet for example. Lee was set up on the car park outside the double doors which meant that the staff only had a short journey in the wind and rain to collect their mouth-watering dinner.
The staff were set to finish for 5pm and Lee and Lauren served from half 5pm. Shaun had booked Hog Roast Coalville’s whole roasted pig menu with four tasty sides. Despite having the option of the traditional spit-roast pig, Shaun had chosen the slowly roasted pig. The pig was cooked for 12 hours on low heat. The ‘low and slow’ approach guarantees tender pork that just falls off the bone and cracking with a super crunch. When the pig is cooked this way, the juices collect around it, where most juices get pulled back into the rug during the resting period, some stays in the tray. Lee uses this to make the sage and onion stuffing. It gives the stuffing such a fantastic favour and he always gets compliments on how nice the stuffing is. Accompanying the pig were three tasty salads; simple but nice mixed salad, creamy and crunchy coleslaw and sweet and tantalising tomato and mozzarella with fresh basil leaves. The fourth side was chips, fried fresh on site, ensuring a crispy exterior and soft and fluffy interior.
The staff came out as soon as they finished work and tucked in to their exciting and delicious dinner. The vegetarians were really happy with their colourful and yummy Halloumi kebabs.
After dinner Shaun had set up a game of bingo and in another room had been made into a casino with a bar. An extremely enjoyable treat as a thank you for all their hard work.
