Football Fans Fuelled for Victory

Many of us witnessed Roy Hodgson manager a squad of England’s finest to a successful victory over Euro 2012 co-hosts Ukraine, be this at the local pub or in the comfort of our own home. For many, the local pub was the main area of social interaction with relation to the football, slowly consuming beer to the chants of dedicated fans.

Whilst many people may have been to their local pub to watch the game, the tension was high, and breaking it was hit and miss. With every touch England got of the ball, the crowd was utterly silent, with the regularly anticipated shouts at the screen during times where decision of the referee were hanging in the balance of a single card.

With such a tension to break, of such a critical game being played, Spitting Pig prepared the finishing touches to the meat that were needed in order to create the deliciously tender half time appetisers which would put fans minds at rest during the short intermission.

Within seconds of the half time whistle being blown, queues were forming for every fan to get their fair share of the luscious meat, quenching their hunger for food, but not yet their hunger for a win. Though the first half of the match had been predominantly quiet within the pub, now it was louder than ever, with each individual group talking about their analysis of the first half, before the second half where it all needed to be turned round started.

As the second half kicked off, the pub feel deadly silent again, showing we had fulfilled our goal, to quench the fans hunger during the half time break of the game, as every plate collected was empty, showing another job well done. Shortly after we had meet our goal, England got there’s and the fans were pleased, both the squad and ourselves had fulfilled our roles to the highest quality expected.
