Olympic Torch Visits County

With England’s dreams shattered during the quarter-finals of Euro 2012 last night, fans were gutted as the 120 minutes of tense football resulted in a penalty shootout against the strong Italian side. With Captain Steven Gerrard dropping mid-game due to cramp, it was already looking bad for the England squad, with fans gasping with each individual touch of the ball. With every fiery of chance for England to break through the strong Italian defence looking positive, yet always extinguish when it came to finishing, there were times in the game in which it looked as if luck may have been on the England squad side.

As the penalty shootout began, England began taking the upper hand, with sensational goals by Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney, until the third attempt where Italy equalised. With the pressure building, every fan went silent, and within seconds the dream was over. Italy put two more goals past goalkeeper Joe Hart, declining England the semi-final place within the tournament.

With faces dropping and fans beginning to state the problems with every way as to why the England squad lost, we here at Spitting Pig could see we had to work fast to ensure that the fans would go home happier than were feeling, so we began carving the hog, and attracting the attention of some fans within the local bar. Within minutes of the first cut of the hog, a large queue began forming, each fan seen to be licking their lips with each cut they witnessed.
