Voyage To Valhalla – Hog Roast Shepshed Attended A Viking Festival!

Hog Roast MidlandsLast weekend, Shepshed was whisked away to the wild and wondrous world of the Vikings, and what an adventure it was! Families, history buffs, and curious souls of all ages came together to celebrate a day bursting with action, flavour, and good old-fashioned fun. At the heart of this Viking festival was the jaw-dropping battle re-enactments. Men and women, clad in meticulously crafted armour, clashed in epic mock battles that left spectators on the edge of their seats. The clanging of swords and the roars of the warriors created an atmosphere so immersive, it was easy to forget the modern world outside the festival grounds. Adding to the authenticity were the majestic horses. These noble animals, ridden by skilled re-enactors, added a touch of grandeur to the event.

Everywhere you turned, faces were painted with bold warrior designs, and hair was styled in intricate braids that would make any Viking proud. The seating areas, draped with cosy fur throws, invited guests to sit back, relax, and soak in the historical ambience. Our Hog Roast Shepshed team had the honour of feeding this hungry horde. We prepared a mouthwatering spit-roasted pig, and the tantalising aroma alone was enough to draw crowds to our stall. Guests couldn’t resist our crispy pork rinds and succulent pulled pork, paired perfectly with our homemade stuffing. Served on soft rolls and wraps with a generous helping of applesauce, it was a feast fit for Odin himself.

Hog Roast MidlandsUnderstanding the diverse dietary preferences of our guests, Hog Roast Shepshed also offered BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls as a tasty alternative for non-meat-eaters. This thoughtful addition was met with enthusiastic approval, ensuring everyone could enjoy a hearty meal. The festival was more than just about battles and feasting —it was a community celebration that brought people together. As the sun set, laughter and camaraderie filled the air, with guests raising their drinking horns and tankards brimming with real ale in joyous toasts. Stories were shared, new friendships were forged, and everyone revelled in the festive spirit. We at Hog Roast Shepshed are immensely proud to have been part of this extraordinary celebration. Seeing the delight on the faces of our guests and hearing their words of appreciation made all our hard work worthwhile. Here’s to more delicious food and memorable moments in the future! Skål to a successful Viking Festival and to many more adventures to come!
