Spitting Pig has been out in the country market town of Wroxhall this week, what more of an excuse do you need than celebrating the Olympics by trying the different tastes of pork from around the world?! Spitting Pig has fully got into the Olympic spirit, with our ‘French style pork chops with cream and mustard’, our ‘Irish coddled pork with cider’ and our ‘Spanish chorizo and pork belly’. For weeks before the Olympics, the phones never stopped: people rang hoping the Spitting Pig would cater for them and what an amazing beginning of the oylimpics for the chefs at Spitting Pig. Crowds of friends and families enjoyed our hog roasts celebrating the Olympics in the beautiful town of Bed-worth. The English flag hung low and the great British weather stayed on our side as we as we began roasting mid-day within the busy and buzzing area surrounding Bedworth markets.
As our golden pig was beautifully roasting, delicious smells surrounded the area. As myself and my colleague looked up, we were stunned by a bold and vibrant sea of people wearing different football shirts, all so tempted by the mouth-watering sensations of our tender pig. Soon enough there was a queue of hungry and excited people waiting to taste the hog-roasted pig. We made sure there was a taste for everybody: the smell, the taste, the atmosphere to entice all families and friends. Football hype turned into Spitting Pig hype as the perfect people just couldn’t get enough of our handsome hog, spit-roasted lean lamb, crispy potatoes, cracklin stuffing and freshly roasted vegetables. Different dishes were designed to keep up with the olympics so that people could really get into the spirit. It certainly worked for us as we didn’t want to leave the food, the surroundings, the people at Wroxhall.
Now, it’s a bit of an emergency one this – if you missed out on celebrating the olympics in Wroxhall, you’ve left yourself very little notice regarding our Spitting Pig celebrating England – its tonight (Friday)!! We love to travel around and tonight we want to grab Birminghams attention: a number one city for football and an even better city when the Spitting Pig arrives. So you shouldn’t be reading this at all, you should be… getting yourself up to Birmingham and having a night to remember with the Spitting Pig.
