On the 28th of June, the Hog Roast Stratford-upon-Avon team had the pleasure of catering for a joint 18th and 70th birthday party. This was a wonderful occasion and it was great to combine two milestone celebrations into one extra special party! Our catering manager Lee was on hand to find the perfect menu for the 80 guests to enjoy, and he agreed that our Alfresco menu would be a wonderful addition to the party, which was set to take place at the Holy Trinity Parish Centre.
On the day of the party, Lee and the Hog Roast Stratford-upon-Avon team arrived at the centre with plenty of time to prepare for the 16:00 serving time. Our Alfresco menu includes three delicious courses, beginning with antipasti sharing platters. The platters included a selection of fine Italian meats and cheeses, including prosciutto, Parma ham, salami, buffalo mozzarella, Parmigiano, and gorgonzola. There are also a selection of artisan breads, with herby focaccia, ciabatta, and bread sticks, served with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Following this, we served a classic hog for the main course. The succulent pork was served with sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling, as well as buttered new potatoes, gourmet coleslaw, and a selection of fresh salad dishes. We also provided grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers for meat-free guests. Finally, the guests chose between chocolate torte and profiteroles for dessert.
