In August, we had the privilege of catering Rob and Georgia’s stunning wedding at the beautiful Royle Forest. With 100 guests gathered in such a picturesque setting, it was the perfect occasion to showcase our Hog Roast Burton upon Trent service with our luxurious Alfresco Menu.
From the moment guests arrived, the day had a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Our experienced waiting staff began by serving antipasti platters directly to each table. Rustic wooden boards laden with fine Italian meats, artisan cheeses, fresh breads, and oils set the tone perfectly, a true celebration of sharing and togetherness. It was a joy to see guests enjoying the grazing-style service as they laughed and mingled at the tables.
For the main course, our signature whole roasted free-range pig took centre stage. With golden crackling, homemade sage & onion stuffing, and apple sauce, it was carved fresh by our chef as waiting staff helped guests with accompaniments. The addition of succulent chicken thighs added variety, while our vegetarian and vegan alternatives; from grilled vegetable skewers to BBQ jackfruit buns, ensured there was something delicious for everyone. Freshly baked bread rolls, seasonal salads, coleslaw, and perfectly cooked new potatoes completed the feast.
The service style was designed to balance elegance with ease: attentive staff serving starters, a vibrant buffet for the main course, and then a return to the dessert table where guests could indulge in a choice of profiteroles, chocolate torte, tarte au citron, cheesecake, or a refreshing summer pudding. Each dish was beautifully presented by the Hog Roast Burton upon Trent team, and everything was enjoyed using our ethical bamboo crockery and cutlery, adding a sustainable touch to the day.
For us, the highlight of catering Rob and Georgia’s wedding wasn’t just the food but the joy of being part of such a meaningful occasion. Seeing family and friends gather, laugh, and celebrate while enjoying our Hog Roast Burton upon Trent experience is what makes our work so rewarding.
