With autumn fast upon us we were starting to get bookings for Halloween and bonfire night and the weeks leading up to both so we are busy busy! We already have bookings for Christmas too the phone just never stops nor does our emails not that we are complaining! The last few weeks of summer are busy too and this weekend was particularly busy. We were in our neck of the woods Saturday hosting a birthday party with a hog roast Wigston.
A party of five hundred guests and we were very excited as we were trying out lots of new dishes! It was an afternoon event so a late one for us as normally we set out at the crack of dawn! BBQ chicken and lamb were the meats of the day and we had come up with some delicious spices to coat the chicken. A new mint sauce we were also eager to try we always aim to improve in what we do even though we are told time and time again we don’t need too as the meats with nothing on are still amazing! Lots of salads, pots of dips were also on order along with roasted potatoes now we do make good roast potatoes we must admit! Within an hour we were set up and meats cooked as the guests arrived.
The happy birthday song was sang to an embarrassed teen and we joined in too! We called the chap straight over and said we would serve him first, he was speechless as he tucked into the succulent chicken and we asked his opinion on the coating he said it was the best he’d ever had! The lamb just fell apart and the mint sauce was a great success just as well we made lots. The potatoes were fluffy and crisp and the whole place smelt amazing. We soon had the hungry crowd fed and happy with our hog roast Wigston! And there was nothing left and we had brought more than ordered too. We get such a thrill seeing guests tuck in seen it for years now but still gives us a thrill. We are what some would say dedicated in what we do and to be honest we have to agree.
