Hog Roast Worcester – Ending the School Year with a Hog Roast Worcester Treat

The school summer holidays are officially here! After yet another long academic year, staff and pupils finally get a bit of well-deserved time off in which to jet off, relax at home, and host various summer event with catering from Hog Roast Worcester.

For the teaching staff at Blessed Edward Olcorne Catholic College in Worcester, the very final gradings for the academic year were to mark their very own special Hog Roast Worcester catered lunch! A treat from management to toast to yet another hard year gone by, all staff were invited on the last day of school to stay behind just a little longer to enjoy a good lunch together, courtesy of the Hog Roast Worcester chefs.

Knowing that our teachers do so much through the academic year in a job that is just as tough as it can be rewarding, the Hog Roast Worcester team were only all too happy to offer our catering services as their end of year treat. We have had chefs and servers pass through our team over the years that graduated from Blessed Edward, so for some it was a nice nostalgia trip back to their old stomping grounds, too.

To send the teaching staff off into the summer, we knew we would need to serve a suitably summery menu. Our signature hog roast seemed like an excellent start. Made in the authentic spit style, it’s a new summer favourite akin to the classic British barbecue. You get excellent tender and crispy meat, which can be expertly carved or hand pulled for some delicious and salty filled rolls or wraps. Add a bit of our BBQ marinade and you have that perfect summer taste.

Our hog roast also came served with its usual trimmings of sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, and fresh apple sauce. The teachers of Blessed Edward could then also help themselves to our BBQ pulled jackfruit as a vegan alternative, along with refreshing portions of creamy red cabbage coleslaw and seasonal leafy greens. There was plenty to go around for all 120 staff members, including plenty more for seconds and even thirds in some cases!
