We have the privilege of telling you all about a truly magical wedding service the Hog Roast Solihull team catered for at the weekend.
The wedding season often turns up some rare gems and exceptional locations around the UK, but very few come close to the genuine magic and novelty of the venue team at Enchanted Woodland Weddings hidden here in Solihull. Our catering team had the privilege of attending this exceptional wedding location to serve an equally magical dining service to celebrate the marriage of Jessica and Aidan. Nestled away in Hockney Heath, at the alarmingly titled Cut Throat Lane, this enchanted woodland forest played host to an exceptional wedding ceremony, followed by a reception catered by the Hog Roast Solihull team.
On a weekend where the weather did its best to melt us all down, to have a venue like the Enchanted Woodland was a blessing. The tree cover not only provided that magical feel to the whole occasion, but also helped to keep guests, foods, and our team well shaded and cool during the weekend’s heatwave. The tipi tents provided by the venue also offered a further cooling effect, as well as once again further adding to the overall magic and wonder of the scene. It was up to head chef Lee and the Hog Roast Solihull team thereafter to keep the magic, the cooling, and the joyous atmosphere going with our speciality wedding catering.
Thankfully, ever adept at reading the atmosphere and tone of the day, chef Lee was able to do just that. When you have an earthy, natural vibe in a venue like this, you want the dining to reflect that also. That is why our dining service began with our antipasti platter and refreshing grazing tables. Colourful, light, refreshing and beautiful just to look at (never mind eat!), it was just the thing to preserve that enchanted feeling to the day. Thereafter, it doesn’t get much more enchanting in catering than our signature hog roast. Cooked in the traditional spit style, it was as though the spirit of Robin Hood and his Merry Men carried through the woodland alive and well!
